We would like to begin by acknowledging that we are in Mi’kma’ki, the ancestral and unceded territory of the Mi’kmaq People. This territory is covered by the “Treaties of Peace and Friendship”.

We also acknowledge that people of African ancestry have been in Nova Scotia for over 400 years.

Our Sacred Teaching for March is “Truth”

This is Week 2 Today is Tuesday, March 5th.

Attention all flag football players.  The sign up for the SHJH flag football teams are live on our athletics webpage.  If interested, sign up before March Break and listen to announcements as tryouts will take place after March break.   

There will be a leadership meeting this Wednesday in the Family Studies room.  We are hoping everyone is able to attend.

The GSA meets today with first lunch GSA in room 146 (Ms. Little's room) and second lunch GSA in room 208 (Mr. Holley’s room). New members are always welcome!

This is the last week of TFA rotations before we switch after March break.  Any students who need extra time to complete their Family Studies sewing projects are encouraged to pop up for extra help this week.
First lunch extra help will be Thursday and Friday.  Second lunch extra help will be Tuesday and Wednesday. 

Ms Treena is hosting a  Cultural Smudging Ceremony. Students who  are Indigenous are invited to the Smudge ceremony today at 11 a.m. We will gather out front  near the trees ( by the grade 6 doors.)  Be sure to have teacher permission.

Ms. Fralick would like to apologize for not being available last week but is available for student drop ins all morning if any that missed library would like to get or return a book and have their teacher’s permission.

There will be badminton on Wednesday until 4:15pm.
