We would like to begin by acknowledging that we are in Mi’kma’ki, the ancestral and unceded territory of the Mi’kmaq People. This territory is covered by the “Treaties of Peace and Friendship”.

We also acknowledge that people of African ancestry have been in Nova Scotia for over 400 years.

“If you cannot find the truth right where you are, where else do you expect to find it?”

This is week 1, today is Wednesday October 4th.

There will be an important Grade 8 Leadership meeting today on second lunch in the Family Studies room.  If you submitted a leadership application please attend.  Bring your lunch so as not miss any of the meeting.

Attention Aladdin Junior cast members! There will be a meeting for everyone involved in last year’s production of Aladdin on Thursday during second lunch at 12 noon for ten minutes in Ms. Cochrane’s room (Room 103). With teachers’ permission, students not on second lunch can attend this short meeting. See Ms. Legge in the Learning Centre with any questions.

The library will be in use today & Thursday as well as next Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. As this will result in many missed classes it is not feasible to accommodate alternative bookings. If a student needs to change or get a book on those days they will only be able to do so when they see the library unoccupied. Alternatively they are welcome to make use of the hold feature. The drop off box will remain in place.

Tomorrow will be the second try-out for the female/female identifying volleyball team. Due to the overwhelming response it will only be for grades six and seven. Next Tuesday there will be one more try-out for all three grades from a shortened list that will be posted on the bulletin board outside the gym.
