We would like to begin by acknowledging that we are in Mi’kma’ki, the ancestral and unceded territory of the Mi’kmaq People. This territory is covered by the “Treaties of Peace and Friendship”.

We also acknowledge that people of African ancestry have been in Nova Scotia for over 400 years.

Today is Monday, September 25th.

Good Morning SHJH! This week, we are honoring National Truth and Reconciliation. This week is about two big ideas, the first is to honor the victims of Canada's Residential School System, and the second is to educate ourselves on the systemic issues and generational trauma that Indigenous peoples continue to face to this day. Throughout this week we hope you will take the time to think and reflect on Canada's past mistakes as we continue to look for ways to move forward together in harmony.

Cross country:
The first practice will be Tomorrow! You will need the forms from this meeting to be able to run off school grounds during first practice. If you missed the meeting and want to join please come see Mrs Hayward whose office is by the janitors room. You can also sign up by visiting the link found on our athletics webpage….. But you need the permission for to run off school grounds! Please listen to future announcements for practice times and other information

If you are a grade 8 student who is interested in becoming part of our leadership committee, please pick up an application ASAP from either Mrs Targett or Mrs Mercer.  Applications to be part of leadership are due in no later than end of day Wednesday, September 27th

Boys/boy identifying volleyball tryouts will begin this week. The first tryout will be tomorrow,Tuesday, September 26 from 2:50-4:00pm. Please sign up on the athletics page.

Students, please be reminded you are not permitted to be hanging, climbing or jumping off of the railings next to the falcon 3 entrance, located at the back of the school.
