We would like to begin by acknowledging that we are in Mi’kma’ki, the ancestral and unceded territory of the Mi’kmaq People. This territory is covered by the “Treaties of Peace and Friendship”.

Our Sacred Teaching for today is Love:
Love is a force that is undeniable. With love all things are possible. It is everyone’s right to have and experience it.

This is Week 2 Today is Tuesday, February 6th.

Today’s person of Black Excellence is a Nova Scotian author, poet, playwright, and professor. Between 2009 and 2011, she served as the third poet laureate of Halifax. She is author of Africville, a children's picture book about the black community by the same name that was razed by the city of Halifax in the 1960s.
Her name is Shauntay Grant

The GSA meets today. The first lunch GSA meets in room 146 (Ms. Little's room) and second lunch GSA is in room 208 (Mr. Holley’s room). New members are always welcome!

There will be a school badminton club starting on Wednesday, February 7th it will run from 2:50-4:00 pm in the gym.  If you are interested in participating, please sign up on the school website’s athletic page. If you have any questions, please come see Mrs. Morrissey in room 230.

MS Treena has invited Ulnooweg to visit SHJH to do a 3D modeling Workshop On Feb 13th. You MUST let her know TODAY if you wish to participate as there are only 14 spots available.

Congratulations to Cole Rhynold who placed second in his speed-skating event; securing him a spot on Team Canada for the 2024 Canadian youth short track championships!

Boys basketball versus Bedford West afterschool.

Today is the first day to buy candy grams! They will be sold at both lunches today in the front lobby. All candy grams are a dollar each and the money goes to our own school food bank!
