We would like to begin by acknowledging that we are in Mi’kma’ki, the ancestral and unceded territory of the Mi’kmaq People. This territory is covered by the “Treaties of Peace and Friendship”.

We also acknowledge that people of African ancestry have been in Nova Scotia for over 400 years.

Our Sacred Teaching for today is Humility:
In life we need to understand humility. Humility is the factor, which allows us to ask humbly for guidance.

This is Week 1 Today is Tuesday, January 30th.

February is African Heritage Month. We will be having a class challenge coming up. Stay tuned!

There will be a boys basketball game at MSMS afterschool today. Please let Mr. Carruthers know if you need a drive or can’t make the game.

Ms. Fisher and Mr. DeMone will be stationed in the front lobby from 8:30am - 8:45am tomorrow to collect any remaining ski trip forms.  This will be the last day for you to hand in forms.  If you haven’t paid yet, please do so ASAP so we can start to finalize numbers and create groups.  If you have any questions, please see Mrs. Fisher or Mr. DeMone. 

The GSA meets today at lunch. The first lunch GSA meets in room 146 (Ms. Little's room) and second lunch GSA is in room 208 (Mr. Holley’s room). New members are always welcome!
Ms. Zoe is absent from school today to attend meetings.

Ms Treena will be hosting Grade 7 students who expressed interest and signed up  to make Dreamcatchers as a cultural activity. Please Join her in the cafeteria  after announcements and with teachers' permissions.
