We would like to begin by acknowledging that we are in Mi’kma’ki, the ancestral and unceded territory of the Mi’kmaq People. This territory is covered by the “Treaties of Peace and Friendship”.

We also acknowledge that people of African ancestry have been in Nova Scotia for over 400 years.

Our Sacred Teaching for today is Wisdom:

Ms Oldford will be working out of Ms Finn’s office upstairs today and tomorrow. If you need school counselling support you can put your request in the black box by Ms Finn’s door or in the library by Ms Oldford’s regular office.

Watch your snowmen today, as leadership students will be around to give your class snowman a stamp for every 5 dollars you have raised for Beacon House.  We are hoping our SHJH community will step up and offer as much assistance as we can.  Congratulations today to Mr Dupuis' class again.  They are still in first place.  The prize winners will be announced next Tuesday and the class prize will be delivered on Wednesday. 

A reminder to leadership students that you should be coming to see Mrs Mercer first thing in the morning, or at lunch to get the stamps for the snowmen.

There will be a DND club meeting today in Mr. Crewes room during 2nd lunch, new members are welcome.

Volleyball team players, please return your jersey’s to the gym if you have not already done so!

There will be pre-season basketball games in our gym today:
Girls Game vs. AJ  at 3:15 pm.     THEN
Boys Game vs. West Bedford at 4:30 pm.

Mr de Vries is looking for students interested in coding, and building. Any interested students can meet with Mr de Vries in room 240 on first lunch today, or on second lunch tomorrow.

Auditions for this Spring's Dessert Theatre fundraiser are taking place after the Christmas Break on January 8th, 9th, and 15th from 2:45-4:30 pm in Ms. Cochrane's Room 103. Students MUST sign up in advance for their audition. Audition sign-up sheets are on the Drama bulletin board outside of the Learning Centre. Students must prepare a song to sing either alone or with a partner. They will be given something to read on the day of their audition. Any questions can be directed to Ms. Legge.

There will be theme days next week. They will be:
MONDAY  - Jersey day or school gear/colours 
TUESDAY - Holiday wear - just about anything goes.  WEDNESDAY - LAST DAY BEFORE BREAK!!!  PJ DAY

There are some lost items here in the library including 3 bracelets, two necklaces, a key, a charm and an earring. If any of these belong to you please come pick them up.
