We would like to begin by acknowledging that we are in Mi’kma’ki, the ancestral and unceded territory of the Mi’kmaq People. This territory is covered by the “Treaties of Peace and Friendship”.

We also acknowledge that people of African ancestry have been in Nova Scotia for over 400 years.

This is week 1, today is Tuesday, October 31st

The GSA meets today: first lunch GSA meets in room 146 (Ms. Little's room) and second lunch GSA is in room 208 (Mr. Holley’s room). All 2SLGBTQIA+ students and their allies are invited to attend. There will be Halloween treats.

Drama Club will be starting on Monday, November 6th from 2:45pm until 4pm in the cafeteria. This club will help cast our show for the Spring which will be an evening of dessert and theatre. Students are asked to sign-up outside of the Learning Centre. Any questions can be directed to Ms. Legge .

There are 4 garbage cans outside for STUDENTS use, please dispose of your garbage. Garbage and food waste has become a huge problem around our building: it looks horrible and attracts unwanted pests. Do a better job getting your waste into the garbage cans! The garbage cans are by Falcon 5 - The Grade 6 door at the front of the school, the front entry, in the playground Area and at the back door.  You can do better!

Congratulations to the SHJH girls volleyball team for their win last night against Madeline Symonds. The whole team played very well! Good luck on tomorrow’s game against Harold T Barrett!

Interested in entering a chess tournament here at the school? SHJH will be holding a chess tournament on Tuesday, November 14th. The tournament will run from 9:00 - 10:30 am in the cafeteria. Sign up sheet is outside Mr. Hobbs’ room.
