We would like to begin by acknowledging that we are in Mi’kma’ki, the ancestral and unceded territory of the Mi’kmaq People. This territory is covered by the “Treaties of Peace and Friendship”.

We also acknowledge that people of African ancestry have been in Nova Scotia for over 400 years.

This is week 2, today is Thursday October 12

There will be a meeting today in Ms. Cochrane’s room at 12 noon for all students that were involved in Aladdin last year. Anyone not on second lunch must ask their teacher beforehand for permission to attend. If you have any questions please come see Ms. Legge in the Learning Centre.

This coming Monday we will be starting a new group called Monday Morning mindfulness. This will be an opportunity to learn some mindfulness practices and we will take place at the beginning of first period to help ease into the week. If you’re interested, see one of the school counselors for more information.

Any Leadership students interested in helping make posters, please meet in Mrs. Target’s room, room 207, during second lunch. We will continue this next week, so it is ok if you can’t make it this time.

Library times are canceled today, all day, due to picture taking. Students are welcome to drop books in the bin and to put books they want on hold online.

Male/Male identifying volleyball mandatory team meeting today at lunch. First lunch in room 152 with Miss. Thompson, second lunch in room 230 with Mme. Morrissey.

Congratulations to the boys soccer team for making the playoffs. They will play Monday, October 16th at GPV. Game time is 4:40. If any player can not make it please see Mr. Williams.

Today will be the first female/female identifying volleyball practice with the new team! Practice will be from 3-4:30, if you are not able to attend, please let Ms. Fralick know, she will be in the library all day.

The library is holding a few misplaced items, a pendant and a charm bracelet. If you think they are your please come see Ms. Fralick.

There will be a meeting of all students who signed up for the school announcement team Tuesday after school from 2:45-3:45. Please let Mr. Carruthers know if you cannot attend. Students will have to arrange to be picked up afterwards.
