We would like to begin by acknowledging that we are in Mi’kma’ki, the ancestral and unceded territory of the Mi’kmaq People. This territory is covered by the “Treaties of Peace and Friendship”.

We also acknowledge that people of African ancestry have been in Nova Scotia for over 400 years.

This is WEEK 1
Today is Tuesday, December 13

Week 1 art club is today during first lunch. Art club will meet in one of the portables today NOT Mr Hobb’s room. Please make your way outside to the portable at the beginning of the first lunch. Bring a pencil and other supplies like markers and coloured pencils that you want to use.

The boys basketball team started their season at the Sackville High School Kingfisher Tournament yesterday. They played Halifax Central, Rocky Lake and Fairview. Kyle Miller, Jacob MacPherson and Shane Lucas were game stars. Thank you to all those Sackville Heights students, parents and staff who came to support the team.
They play Elizabeth Sutherland at 8:30 tonight.

We had an amazing first week with our giving tree with over 1100 dollars raised.  We have some new leaders in the race for top spot.  In the lead in grade 6 is Mrs Baird with 140 dollars, a new leader in grade 7 Mme Dillman’s class has 170 and in the lead in grade 8 is Mme Anderson although Mme Bernier less than  20 dollars behind!  The teacher’s tree is collecting some nice stamps.  They have raised $130 so far.

The grade 8 leadership students have arranged a mini Holiday theme week.  We will start on Friday with RED and GREEN DAY, next Monday will be UGLY SWEATER DAY and Tuesday will be HOLIDAY THEME (wear anything holiday related, Christmas PJ’s, Santa hats, reindeer antlers etc.)
