This is Week 1 Today is Tuesday, February 13th.

This local basketball star’s mother grew up in Uniacke Square and his father in North Preston. He played one year at Prince Andrew High School before moving on to Oak Hill Academy in Virginia at the age of 15. In 2016 he helped lead Team Canada to a silver medal at the FIBA Under-18 Championship and played a crucial role in Canada’s run to gold at the 2017 FIBA Under-19 World Cup. As a university freshman, he was considered one of the best players for Iowa State. He joined the Toronto Raptors in 2019 for the NBA Summer League and continues to play professionally for various teams around the world. His name is Lindell Wigginton

Attention all grade 7 and 8 ski trip attendees.  Ski groups and bus lists have been posted on the bulletin board outside the gym.  Please check that your info is correct and let Ms. Fisher or Mr. DeMone know if changes need to be made.  We will not be making any changes to groups or buses based on student requests. 
The GSA meets today with first lunch GSA in room 146 (Ms. Little's room) and second lunch GSA in room 208 (Mr. Holley’s room). New members are always welcome!
Board games with Mme. Barrette in the cafeteria are canceled today. Please go to your regular class as scheduled.
There are still a few spots open for the grade 7 and 8  ‘Girls in Engineering Day’ at Dalhousie on Feb 22 from 9;00am to 2:30pm, and will include hands-on engineering experiences and a pizza lunch. Students will need to arrange their own transportation. For a permission form or more information please see Ms. Finn before the end of the day.
Ulnooweg is visiting SHJH today! Students who signed up with Ms Treena will need to go to the cafeteria instead of room 151 at 9am for the 3D workshop.

SHJH will be holding another Chess tournament on Tuesday, February 27th from 9:00 - 10:30. If you are interested in participating, the sign up sheet is outside Mr. Hobbs’ room.

Reminder of the dance this Thursday from 6:30-8:30. $8 admission or $6 with a food-bank donation. We are in need of staff volunteer chaperones. Please let admin know if you can help.
