Please stand for the playing of “Lift Every Voice and Sing”. This piece is known as the black national anthem and will be played the entire month of February.

We would like to begin by acknowledging that we are in Mi’kma’ki, the ancestral and unceded territory of the Mi’kmaq People. This territory is covered by the “Treaties of Peace and Friendship”.

We also acknowledge that people of African ancestry have been in Nova Scotia for over 400 years.

Our Sacred Teaching for today is Wisdom

Black History Month
Each day this February we will be highlighting members of the Black community who have made significant contributions to society and helped pave the way forward.

Through non-violent actions, this Black man led the Civil Rights Movement in the USA.

We would like to apologize for the confusion yesterday on the announcements, we didn’t have the script for yesterday as information from last year was presented.

Well done to the boys basketball team who defeated GPV yesterday. The heights were led in scoring by Chase Doyle and Owen Stevens……many other falcons contributed to the win as well. There will be no practice today. Next game is here Thursday against AJ.

There will be a D and D meeting today during first lunch in the family studies room. 

There will be an Aladdin rehearsal today after school. This is a full cast rehearsal until 4:30. Please come to rehearsal today in the cafeteria after school!
