We would like to begin by acknowledging that we are in Mi’kma’ki, the ancestral and unceded territory of the Mi’kmaq People. This territory is covered by the “Treaties of Peace and Friendship”.

We also acknowledge that people of African ancestry have been in Nova Scotia for over 400 years.

Our Sacred Teaching for today is on Love and comes from a Ojibwa prayer:
“Teach us love, compassion, and honor that we may heal the earth and heal each other.”  

This is WEEK 2
Today is Monday, January 9

We are going to change up how we do our theme day this week. Instead of doing our theme on Friday we are doing it on Tuesday.  So tomorrow, come to school wearing a hoodie or sweatpants or both! 

Week 2 art clubs are tomorrow during the first and second lunch in the portable. Bring your pencils and other supplies that you want to use.

There is another group that will be starting soon called Mindful Monday Mornings. This is an opportunity to meet at the beginning of first period to learn some mindfulness practices and to help ease into the week. If you’re interested, see one of the school counsellors for more information.

Concert Band practices will NOT be starting tomorrow, but instead next week: January 16th.

Finally, we have a guest who wanted to introduce herself to everyone. Ms. Page is a counselling intern who is joining our school and working with Ms. Finn and Ms. Oldford. (Ms. Page will then say a few words)
