Sackville Heights Junior High

November 18th, 2022

We would like to begin by acknowledging that we are in Mi’kma’ki, the ancestral and unceded territory of the Mi’kmaq People. This territory is covered by the “Treaties of Peace and Friendship”.

We also acknowledge that people of African ancestry have been in Nova Scotia for over 400 years.

Our Sacred Teaching for today is Respect
“In the end we are all separate: our stories, no matter how similar, come to a fork and diverge. We are drawn to each other because of our similarities, but it is our differences we must learn to respect?”

This is WEEK 1
Today is Friday , November 18

Students interested in trying out for the boys and girls basketball team are asked to fill out the online form found on the athletics webpage.  Stay tuned for tryout times.

We are looking to start a lunchtime art club. This will be an opportunity to hang-out, meet new people, and make small pieces of art. All levels of skill and experience are welcome. It will be in Mr Hobb’s room on Tuesdays during early lunch week 1 and late lunch week 2. To express interest in joining the art club, please sign-up by Friday on the sheet by MsOldford’s office in the library.

At the end of the day, students are NOT to run alongside a moving bus as they arrive to pick up students. This is extremely dangerous and can cause a serious accident if someone were to trip or fall. Students doing this will be addressed by admin and board the bus after all other students.

All musical students are asked to return their permission forms to Ms. Legge, Ms. Cochrane, or the office today. The Top 40 list will be posted on our Google Classroom over the weekend and on the Drama Board on Monday. Remember: only the first 40 will be able to go.

There will be no literature club meeting today because Mr. Hoeppner is out.

Have a Fabulous Friday SHJH!!!
