Sackville Heights Junior High

November 10th, 2022

We would like to begin by acknowledging that we are in Mi’kma’ki, the ancestral and unceded territory of the Mi’kmaq People. This territory is covered by the “Treaties of Peace and Friendship”.

We also acknowledge that people of African ancestry have been in Nova Scotia for over 400 years.

Our Sacred Teaching for today is Respect
“In the end we are all separate: our stories, no matter how similar, come to a fork and diverge. We are drawn to each other because of our similarities, but it is our differences we must learn to respect?”

This is WEEK 2
Today is Thursday , November 10

For the information of staff and students, Mr. Cole is not in the building today.

Are you interested in Naruto? Pokemon? Any other Anime?
There will be an Anime Club starting at 2nd Lunch Today and also every Thursday in Mme. Sarty’s room Room 230. All are welcome, bring your lunch.

Second lunch GSA, also known as Fruit Basket, will be meeting today at our new day and location! We will meet in Mr. Hoeppner’s room which is room # 152 during second lunch on Thursdays. Everyone is welcome!

Congratulations to the Falcon volleyball team on playing the most well fought and highly competitive match that any of the coaches from either team has ever seen. While we lost 3 games to two it is worth noting that both teams were digging in to earn every hard won point they could, and every game was too close to call till the very end. Please remember practice today from 2:45 - 4:30.

Monday November 14th is World Diabetes Day. We encourage all students and staff to wear blue in support of people living with diabetes.

Make sure you check out the lost and found in the grade six hallway by the custodian's double doors/stairs if you have missing items.  The items that are not claimed will be donated on Monday November 14.

At the end of the day, students are NOT to run alongside a moving bus as they arrive to pick up students. This is extremely dangerous and can cause a serious accident if someone were to trip or fall. Students doing this will be addressed by admin and board the bus after all other students.

We would like to wish Rachel Derby from 7-4 a happy birthday on Friday!

We would now like to introduce our vice principal mr. Mumford to talk about the assembly for today.

Have a Terrific Thursday SHJH!!!
