Sackville Heights Junior High

October 14th, 2022

We would like to begin by acknowledging that we are in Mi’kma’ki, the ancestral and unceded territory of the Mi’kmaq People. This territory is covered by the “Treaties of Peace and Friendship”.

We also acknowledge that people of African ancestry have been in Nova Scotia for over 400 years.

Our Sacred Teaching for today is Truth
“If you cannot find the truth right where you are, where else do you expect to find it?”

This is WEEK 2
Today is Friday, October 14

We would like to give a big shout out to those cross country runners who went to the school wide race yesterday! Everyone did exceptionally well and made our school proud!

The SHJH Concert Band is starting up next week. Open to grade 7 and 8 band students, this group will meet Tuesday mornings at 7:45 in the band room. Our first performance is to play O Canada at our Remembrance Day assembly. Sign-up sheet is on the band room door.

There will be a Queerios meeting at second lunch today in room 222. Who are the Queerios you ask? Well, that’s the new name of the second lunch GSA! Everyone is welcome.

A reminder to students that Breakfast program items are available in the mornings at the entrance doors. Students are NOT to come to the office during class time asking for a snack.

Please take a moment today to check the lost and found bin in front of the grade six wing as at the end of day it will be going to goodwill.

Thank you to everyone that tried out for the girls volleyball team. A final team list has been posted outside the gym. There will be a practice next tuesday and thursday from 2;45-4;30.

Have a Fabulous Friday  SHJH!
