We would like to begin by acknowledging that we are in Mi’kma’ki, the ancestral and unceded territory of the Mi’kmaq People. This territory is covered by the “Treaties of Peace and Friendship”.

We also acknowledge that people of African ancestry have been in Nova Scotia for over 400 years.

Today is Thursday, September 22

A reminder to the boys soccer team of today’s practice from 2:50 to 3:45. Please have drives arranged home for after practice.

The online sign ups for boys and girls volleyball are now posted on the athletics webpage.  Stay tuned for tryout times.   

On Wednesday, September 28th we will be having our school’s Terry fox run. All teachers are asked to check the SHJH Team staff team drive for the Terry Fox Run 2022 document for more details.  If you have any questions please see Mr. Williams or Mrs. Baird.

Tomorrow at lunch will be our first GSA meeting of the year. What is a GSA? Well, it stands for “Gender and Sexuality Alliance” and it’s for students who identify as being lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, nonbinary, or any other group in the 2SLGBTQIA+ community. It’s also for straight allies! Everyone is welcome. The first meeting will be tomorrow during second lunch in the Family Studies room, which is room 222. If you are on first lunch, don’t worry- your meeting is coming next week!

Thanks to everyone who auditioned for Aladdin yesterday. SHJH has so much talent! Final cast list will be posted Monday outside of Ms. Legge’s room.

Mr. Langille will be having extra help tomorrow at both lunches for any grade 7 or 8 band students who have just started or who switched to a new instrument.

The first pop Choir rehearsal will be today after school from 3:00 to 4:00pm in the music room. Any students that have not yet signed up please do so now.The sign up sheet is outside room 130. Please arrange for a drive.

If any student took home the wrong nike lunch bag yesterday please bring it down to switch at the office.
