We would like to begin by acknowledging that we are in Mi’kma’ki, the ancestral and unceded territory of the Mi’kmaq People. This territory is covered by the “Treaties of Peace and Friendship”.

We also acknowledge that people of African ancestry have been in Nova Scotia for over 400 years.

Did you hear? We are doing the musical Aladdin Jr. in April! We are still looking for a few people to play characters. We also need to know who is staying on for our magic carpet ride. We will be having two meetings next week. One will be on Tuesday, September 13th second lunch at 12:00 pm and the other will be on Thursday, September 15th at 11:20. These meetings will take place in room 103 only for those people who were signed up last year. Audition sign-up sheet for new students can be found outside of room 130. Attention all soccer players.  The girls first soccer tryout will be held on Tuesday, September 13 from 2:45 - 4:15.  Tryouts will be held on the back field and are open to all grade levels.  Be sure you have signed up before attending.  If you have any questions please see Mr. DeMone. 

 Hey  I heard a rumor I should share on the announcements this morning. I heard that the staff at SHJH are going to be going around today approaching students that they don’t directly teach and asking if they know their name. If they get it right they get a fabulous falcon. If they submit it today they also get a treat from the office.

 In that case  we should run the SHJH staff pictures one more time so the students will have one more chance to learn every staff member's name. .
